How to fix ER28
- Unplug for ten minutes, then power back on. Board resets clear a surprising number of these.
- Look for a leak. Pull the drip tray, tank and hopper and look for water trails under the machine or on the base plate.
- Open the machine and reseat every ribbon cable and plug between the display board, main board and power (triac) board. Push each connector home until it clicks.
- Dry any wet connector with a hair dryer on low, and fix the leak that wet it.
- If the fault persists with everything dry and seated, one of the boards has failed. Get a quote before ordering: board prices vary a lot by model.

If the display is blank or flickering as well, do not keep power-cycling; that can take a struggling board from intermittent to dead.
