CodeFix

Editorial policy

Manufacturers publish little about their error codes, and the internet is full of confident guesses. This page explains how we try to tell the difference.

Where the information comes from

For each topic we start with the manufacturer’s own documents: user manuals, support pages and published code tables. We read the full text of the manuals, not search snippets. When the manufacturer says nothing about a code, we may use third-party technician references or owner reports, and the page says so.

How we label reliability

Each code page carries a short note on how reliable that brand’s information is.

What we leave out

Checking before and after publishing

Every guide is checked against its source notes before it goes live: each claim is matched to a source, wording is checked so it does not copy source text, and style and safety lines are checked. When a source contradicts something already on the site, we correct the older page. Illustrations marked as AI-generated are not photographs of real machines.

Corrections

If a code meaning or fix differs on your machine, email us with the model number and what you found. We credit corrections on the page where we can.

Independence and advertising

CodeFix is independent and not affiliated with any manufacturer. Pages carry advertising, and advertising never decides what a page recommends. See our privacy policy and about page.
