Breville / Sage error code questions
How many Breville / Sage error codes are covered?
132 codes across 6 machine families. Each has its own page with the meaning, the part at fault, the fix and the cost.
What does Breville ER05 mean?
Milk jug temperature sensor open circuit detected at startup. The control board cannot read the milk jug temperature sensor (NTC). On this code the sensor reads as an open circuit: the wire has come off, the plug is loose or corroded, or the sensor itself has failed. Because it fails the self-test at power-on, the machine refuses to start until the sensor reads again. Breville does not publish this code table, so the meaning comes from third-party service tables. ER05 on the Barista Touch is described by one technician video (Kanen Coffee) as the milk jug temperature sensor, the small probe on the drip tray area that reads the jug temperature while the wand textures milk. Breville publishes no code table, so treat the meaning as third-party. The machine checks that sensor at startup and stops at "ER05 startup error" if it cannot read it.
What does Breville ER15 mean?
Communication fault detected between internal electronic modules. The display or main board has lost contact with another board inside the machine, according to third-party service tables (Breville publishes no code table). Technician sources give loose connections, moisture on a connector, or a failed board as the possible causes. Breville tells owners not to open the machine, so diagnosing which one it is needs a qualified technician. ER15 on the Barista Touch is listed in third-party tables as a communication fault between internal electronic modules. It is not a sensor code. Breville publishes no code table and its manual tells owners not to open the machine.
