How to fix ER15
- Unplug for ten minutes, then power back on. A reset may clear a one-off fault.
- Look from the outside for a leak. Pull the drip tray, tank and hopper and look for water trails under the machine or on the base plate.
- If the fault persists, stop and contact Breville or an authorised service centre. A technician would check the connections between the display board, main board and power board, look for moisture, and test the boards. Do not reseat internal cables yourself.

If the machine is leaking from the tank or the heater area, stop using it and have it checked before anything else.
When to stop and call a repairer
If the display is blank or flickering as well, do not keep power-cycling. Unplug the machine and contact service.

Questions
What does ER15 mean on the Breville / Sage Barista Touch?
Communication fault detected between internal electronic modules. The display or main board has lost contact with another board inside the machine, according to third-party service tables (Breville publishes no code table). Technician sources give loose connections, moisture on a connector, or a failed board as the possible causes. Breville tells owners not to open the machine, so diagnosing which one it is needs a qualified technician. ER15 on the Barista Touch is listed in third-party tables as a communication fault between internal electronic modules. It is not a sensor code. Breville publishes no code table and its manual tells owners not to open the machine.

DIY difficulty: not recommended. Unplug for ten minutes, then power back on. A reset may clear a one-off fault. Look from the outside for a leak. Pull the drip tray, tank and hopper and look for water trails under the machine or on the base plate.
