How to fix Error 01
- Switch off and wait until the machine is silent.
- Remove the brew group. Push the compacted coffee out of the funnel with a spoon handle, then vacuum the loose grounds from the funnel and the brew-group cavity.
- Refit the brew group and switch on.
- Set the grind one step coarser if it recurs, and avoid very oily dark roasts.
When to stop and call a repairer
If the grinder hums but does not turn with a clear funnel, the grinder is jammed or its motor has failed.

Coffee grinder cannot work properly: the coffee funnel is blocked with ground coffee. Ground coffee has compacted in the funnel between the grinder and the brew group, usually from oily beans or a very fine grind. The grinder motor stalls against it.
