How to fix ER18
- Unplug. Do not keep resetting the breaker; each trip means current is going where it should not.
- Let the machine dry for 24 hours somewhere warm if it has been leaking.
- Check the mains cable and plug for damage and try a different socket on a different circuit.
- If it trips again, or if you cannot find the cause, contact Breville or an authorised service centre. Finding a leak behind panels or testing the element and power board is technician work.

How to check the error log
Switch the machine off at the wall. Hold the front Power button, switch the wall power back on and release when the logo appears. Enter the service password 00000, then open Error Counter to see stored faults or Live Debug for live temperatures.
Clear the log after a repair so you can tell whether the fault has really gone.
