Samsung induction cooktop error codes

Samsung induction cooktop error codes differ by country and by model. This page splits them by region and shows only what Samsung’s own support pages state. Find your region first, then your code.

Safety: a cooktop runs on mains power and the glass stays hot after you switch it off. Do not open the unit or touch its wiring.

Why there is no single list

Samsung publishes separate tables for Canada and Australia, and per-model pages in Poland. Codes such as C1 mean different things in different tables. Some third-party lists use codes like E-C1 or E-24. They contradict Samsung’s own pages: Samsung Canada’s pan code is the underlined u; Australia lists a plain u. Its residual-heat sign is H or h. We leave those lists out.

Canada

Samsung’s Canadian page applies to cooktops sold in Canada.

CodeWhat Samsung saysWhat you can try
C0, C1, C2, C3Sensor error.Restart with the Power key. If it returns, cut power for 30 seconds, then restart. If it still returns, request service.
d0Stuck button: the panel senses a constant touch from water, debris or an object.Clean and dry the panel, then restart.
F0, F1, F2Communication error.Restart, then cut power for 30 seconds. If it continues, request service.
Underlined uPan detection error (induction only): the pan is the wrong size or is not magnetic.Use magnetic cookware that suits the size of the zone.
Any other codeNot described in the table.Cut power and restart. If the code stays, request service.

Australia

Samsung’s Australian page says codes vary by location and place of purchase. If your cooktop came from elsewhere, check its manual.

CodeWhat Samsung saysWhat you can try
C0Burner temperature sensor fault.Restart, then cut power for more than 30 seconds. If it stays, call a Samsung Service Centre.
C1Temperature above the specified level. No step listed on Samsung's page.
C2PBA sensor fault. No step listed on Samsung's page.
A2The DC fan motor is not running. No step listed on Samsung's page.
d0A key has been pressed for more than 8 seconds.Clean and dry the panel.
F0Main and sub circuit boards are not communicating. No step listed on Samsung's page.
F2The touch IC is communicating abnormally. No step listed on Samsung's page.
UPSupply voltage is outside 220 to 240 V.Have the household supply checked.
uUnsuitable cookware, or no pan on the zone.Use a suitable pan.
5EOn electric (not induction) models, a sensor was touched for more than 10 seconds. No step listed on Samsung's page.
H or hResidual heat. This is a warning, not a fault. No step listed on Samsung's page.
Overheat symbolThe hob switched itself off.Let it cool, then press On/Off.

An older Samsung manual for an Australian model, the NZ64H57479K, shows symbols instead of numeric codes: a wet-panel symbol (reset with On/Off), an overheat symbol (cool, then On/Off) and a pan symbol (use suitable cookware). It also says the fan running after switch-off is normal, and that a service call for an operating error may be chargeable even in warranty.

Poland: model NZ64F3NM1AB only

Samsung Poland answers code questions on separate pages for the induction hob (in Polish, płyta indukcyjna) model NZ64F3NM1AB. These meanings apply to that model. Do not assume they apply to other Samsung hobs.

CodeWhat Samsung saysWhat you can try
E3The ceramic surface is too hot, for example from heating an empty pan.Let it cool, then switch back on.
E4The ceramic hob overheated, often from an empty pan.Let it cool, then restart with the main switch.
LoThe child safety lock is on. This is not a fault. No step listed on Samsung's page.

We could not find an official Samsung meaning for E1, E2, E6, F9 or dE on European hobs, so we do not give one.

What Samsung lets you do

If the code persists, the next step is service. We found no consumer test or diagnostic mode for Samsung hobs. For other Samsung cooking appliances, see stove and range codes and oven codes.

Beyond the fix

Did you knowSamsung's NZ64H57479K manual says boost power lasts at most 10 minutes per zone, and the cooling fan keeps running after switch-off. Neither is a fault.

Questions

Is there a complete list of Samsung induction cooktop error codes?

Not one we can stand behind. Samsung publishes short tables per region and per model, and they differ. Third-party lists using codes such as E-C1 or E-24 contradict Samsung’s own pages, so we only publish what Samsung’s pages state.

What does an underlined u mean on a Samsung induction cooktop?

Samsung Canada says it is a pan detection error: the pan is the wrong size or not magnetic. Australia shows a plain u for unsuitable cookware or no pan. Try a magnetic pan that fits the zone.

Does C1 mean the same thing everywhere?

No. Samsung Canada groups C1 under sensor errors. Samsung Australia describes it as temperature above the specified level. Use the table for your region and check your model’s manual.

Can I open the cooktop to fix a code?

No. Samsung says repairs must be done by a qualified service technician. Cooktops carry mains power and can stay hot after use. Stick to the steps Samsung allows: restarting, cutting power for 30 seconds, cleaning the panel, changing cookware or letting the hob cool.
