Sunbeam EMM6500GR Origins Sense: lights and beeps
The EMM6500GR does not use numbered error codes. It signals with lights and beeps, listed below as Sunbeam’s user guide describes them.
| What you see or hear | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Alert indicator steady on, with a beep | The water in the reservoir is at or below the minimum level. The machine still works. | Refill above the minimum level. |
| Alert indicator flashing, with 3 beeps | The tank ran dry and the pump stopped. | Refill above the minimum fill level, then press the single (ONE CUP) brew button to prime. |
| Alert indicator pulsing | The selection dial needs returning to the 12 o’clock position. | Rotate the dial to 12 o’clock. |
| Clean icon lit | A cleaning cycle needs to be run. | Press the Clean button twice quickly. |
| Clean icon flashing | The machine needs descaling. | Press and hold the Clean/Descale button to start the descale function. |
| Grinder not working and its button flashing (the machine beeps if the three main buttons also flash) | The grinder has overheated. | Wait 6 minutes for it to cool down automatically. |
| Power indicator pulsing | The machine is warming up. | Wait until the pulsing stops. |
If the lights do not match
The same light can mean something different on another Sunbeam model, so use the page for your own model number. If nothing here fits, or the machine will not turn on at all, contact Sunbeam Customer Care on 1300 881 861 (10am to 6pm AEST, Monday to Friday); see the Sunbeam page for warranty and claim details.
