GE Appliances dishwasher error codes
GE publishes an official table for dishwasher codes C1 to C8, H2O, PF, FTD, LEAK DETECTED and a few more (not every code appears on every model). 888, CFE and E1 are not in it, so those pages say where their meaning comes from.
How to read the stored error log
GE does not publish a consumer diagnostic-mode sequence for its dishwashers. Service-mode entry differs by model and lives in the technical service manual for your model number (printed on the tub or door edge). Button sequences circulating online are model-specific and often wrong, and service mode can run pumps, valves and heaters, so we do not list them. GE's own reset is: Start/Reset, wait two minutes, then switch off at the breaker for about 30 seconds.
Service menus are intended for technicians. Reading the log is harmless; do not change calibration values.
